Our company is looking for a Cost Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing variance in cost and schedule and recommend corrective actions;
  • Assist in reviewing and monitoring early completion schedules and pay application schedules for compliance with contract requirements;
  • Verifying changes are properly reflected in the cost forecast and assessing impact on contingency, escalation and cash flow;
  • Support preparation of cost reduction, value engineering, and risk assessment recommendations for project cost effectiveness;
  • Coordinating with Regional Project Controls for required project-level reporting;
  • Monitor the status of the allocation and expenditure of project commitments;
  • Support the review and approval activities for baseline and subsequent updated schedules;
  • Assisting Program Cost Lead with cost forecasts and funding that conforms to the Program Cost Unit Management Plan;
  • Providing accurate and timely cost/budget/forecast reporting;
  • Identifying trends and deviations and report to the Program Cost Lead;
  • Proficient in cost management System, example: EcoSys;
  • Recommending solution and recover plans to address schedule and cost impacts.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Familiar with construction projects phases and disciplines;
  • Prior experience with multi-Billion dollar programs or portfolio management;
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts, means and methods;
  • Ability to use analytical techniques to provide Cost analysis and provide solutions;
  • AACE Certification;
  • Technically strong in project cost planning and reporting;
  • Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training;
  • Familiar with Primavera 6 and Ecosys;
  • Experience working with City and County of San Francisco;
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
