Our company is looking for a CPA Tax Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with local and state cannabis regulations and respective taxes;
  • Help collect contact information and organize information in a coherent manor;
  • Technical tax review and approval of tax returns;
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Income Taxes;
  • Research local city municipality cannabis ordinance;
  • Previous and continuous work experience with the Drake/ProSeries/Thomson Reuters tax software / relevant tax software;
  • Act as a liaison between our Clients and the internal company;
  • Help our marketing team with content ideas, generate and create new content, etc;
  • Assist our Clients with applying for local cannabis licenses;
  • Experience with tax preparation of 1040 / 1120S / 1120 / 1065, etc;
  • Reaching out to existing and potential Clients;
  • Assist with general tax, marketing and branding opportunities;
  • Lead a team to ensure that the work is being assigned efficiently and that the team is being optimized and supported;
  • Management of the preparation of income tax projections that involve multiple scenarios and analysis;
  • Coordination and communication with clients, client personnel and others to obtain information essential to delivering tax services.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience representing clients in controversies before tax and regulatory agencies;
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills;
  • Commitment to continuous professional skills improvement;
  • Solid business and individual tax planning background;
  • Proven engagement and staff management skills;
  • Managerial/Supervisory Experience;
  • Ability to organize and direct staff to deliver quality recommendations within project deadlines;
  • Proficiency in use of computer tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software programs;
  • 7+ years of tax/accounting experience;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and use good judgment;
  • Big 4 experience preferred or Large Public Accounting firm background;
  • Public Accounting experience;
  • Ability to think outside the box to solve complex problems;
  • Must have CPA certification or progress towards CPA.
