Customer Program Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Customer Program Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Be voice of reason to find issues and solve, preventing fallout even when everyone says, “we’re ok”;
- Goal: Be the product advocate, keep the LeoStella spacecraft factory running at all times and ensure customer delight;
- Create, own and maintain executive program dashboards using LeoStella program office methodology and templates;
- Solve issues, all issues – in real time at eye level and report blockers to solve in a clear action orientated message;
- Support new business vehicle level statement of work creation, spec review and release, and should cost analysis;
- Maintain customer: purchase order, order entries, contracts, change request and cost workflows in ERP system;
- Create, own and maintain program quality assurance plan, metrics and root cause corrective action plans;
- Up to 25% travel expected, position is based in Tukwila, near Seattle;
- Train an evolving customer base in serial manufacturing best practices, error proofing, 5Why, 5S, 8D;
- Develop and maintain cut in plans to enable quick turn innovation within budget on serial production programs;
- Execute safe launch ramp plans (IMS) including internal/external program mtgs, action lists, agendas and minutes;
- Manage often evolving and ambiguous customer needs and triage customer change requests as product advocate;
- Customer facing lead for executing programs from Kick Off (T0) to Delivery to End of Life;
- Manage all customer communications domestically and with overseas customers in consideration of export control;
- Coordinate customer and inhouse (ENG, PROD, SC) program reviews, be the focal program communication point.
Requirements:
- Detail understanding of product lifecycle management, product strategies, customer requirements;
- Owner/Operator mentality, executive presence to influence customer and inhouse teams, startup experience is a plus;
- Bachelor’s degree in business, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or other related discipline, and / or;
- 5+ years’ experience in program management, technology manufacturing, quality assurance or related field;
- Ability to work self-directed, seeking out issues; small and large problems alike – rather than being told where to look;
- Aerospace experience is a plus – managing technical and quality assurance for aerospace programs;
- First principle thinking as a default to direct innovative solutions to complex problems – always solve;
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government regulation of the space industry.
