Development Officer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Development Officer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Draft proposals to individual and corporate donors and steward gifts;
- As a frontline fundraiser, manage a personal portfolio of 100-125 donors and maintain frequent public contact and regular outreach to donors;
- Solicit unrestricted and program-specific gifts to support new and existing initiatives;
- Work with the President and CEO, to strengthen donor relationships, and to plan donor visits;
- Attend Center programs and events. Represent and promote the mission of the Center to donors, prospective donors, stakeholders and partners;
- Maintain confidentiality of records and donor and prospect information in Altru donor management database;
- Strengthen relationships with the Center’s constituents, maintain and expand a robust cultivation and stewardship program.
Requirements:
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications required;
- Ability to work weekends, evening hours, or holidays as needed and assigned;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- 3-5 years experience in development preferred, including frontline fundraising experience, communications, and/or similar field required;
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
