Digital Asset Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Digital Asset Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Document and provide reports on content management, delivery, and publishing;
- Team with production team to define software requirements, schedule testing, and manage implementation;
- Develop and maintain editorial standards to ensure all digital content enhances SEO and covers for ADA compliance;
- Determine and communicate operational best practices with respect to file-based content delivery, acquisition, and multimedia publishing;
- Track department budget, including project allocation, in coordination with the VP, Head Of Content;
- Maintain the daily operation of the digital asset archive, implement processes for the acquisition, usage, archiving and storage of digital assets;
- Manage content life cycle as required for internal and external stakeholders;
- Make recommendations to improve department workflows;
- Such other duties as required;
- Oversee all multimedia transfers from affiliates;
- Migrate all existing assets into a new digital asset management system;
- Develop editorial standards for content metadata and tagging for multimedia delivery;
- Make recommendations for operational software and hardware requirements to support media management.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of digital media;
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent;
- Experience training staff on content workflow, processes, and standard operating procedures;
- Must be able to work independently yet strong collaboration skills are required;
- Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in media management and/or multimedia content production and delivery;
- Ability to translate approved objectives into work plans and procedures;
- Must be detail oriented, meticulous and able to maintain confidentiality;
- Knowledge of a server-based file system;
- Must have traditional library and digital asset management experience;
- Knowledge of editorial/journalistic standards and style;
- Ability to make timely decisions affecting own work and that of production staff.
