The Donor Relations Coordinator motivates and identifies donors and prospects to make major gifts to organization’s foundation. Assists with foundation development activities including gift processing, donor relations, and donor cultivation. Being a Donor Relations Coordinator may assist with the preparation and submission of applications and proposals for the provider organization. Supports with a variety of donor appreciation activities, programs, and mailings. In addition, Donor Relations Coordinator typically requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Being a Donor Relations Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Our company is looking for a Donor Relations Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Database Administrator to prepare, edit, and send donor acknowledgment letters;
  • Monitor social media channels and create compelling social media content;
  • Work with Database Administrator, Comptroller and Donor Relations Manager to administer the Open Hand employee giving campaign;
  • Manage birthday, honor, and memory card process;
  • Assist the Development Database Administrator with record research and maintenance in the Giveffect database as needed;
  • Prepare and mail gift cards;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Download gifts from online database;
  • Train and oversee interns, co-ops and temps;
  • Troubleshoot/problem solve unprocessed gifts;
  • Run and distribute gift reports;
  • Research lost donors for new contact information and update records;
  • Enter receipt of gifts;
  • Produce and mail gift acknowledgments and receipts.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel;
  • Excellent Communication skills via phone, email and in-person interactions;
  • Experience utilizing databases particularly Raisers Edge and Luminate Online;
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed;
  • Minimum 1-3 years non-profit fundraising and/or related customer service experience;
  • Database and data entry experience, Raiser’s Edge preferred;
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • 2+ years of experience in a human services development environment;
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Experience with Luminate or other fundraising tools;
  • 2-3 years of administrative experience;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
