Our company is looking for a Estimator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Solicits for subcontractor quotations as necessary to complete the scope of work. Update subcontractors with plans,specifications, and addenda;
- Identifies any direct long lead items during design and assist with the development a procurement strategy for the long lead items;
- Compiling and reducing project data into concise form;
- Develop and maintain a cost database;
- Preparing scope/leveling sheets for assigned trades; meet with subcontractors to finalize scope;
- Translate bid documents, plans, and specs into budgets;
- Reviews and assesses market data with business development team to accurately prepare bids for proposals;
- Keep Smartsheet Property Scope updated;
- Evaluate proposals from vendors and/or subcontractors for compliance with scope of work;
- Solicits bids and elects proper subcontractors and vendors for assignment;
- Estimating challenging/complex projects from $1-30million;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Supportive team player, calm and level headed;
- Identify potential issues/errors and seek clarification;
- Experience with P6 scheduling and cost-loaded schedules.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal communication skills;
- Must have experience with HCSS Software (HeavyBid);
- Experience with construction estimation software. Bid2Win a Plus;
- Experience with Management system preferred;
- Valid driver’s license;
- ICAR Platinum status;
- Exposure to estimating software (Bluebeam) preferred;
- This position will work out of the Pittsburgh, PA location and is assigned to the Estimating department;
- Estimate labor and material costs by soliciting quotes;
- Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprint and CAD drawings;
- Involves extreme accuracy in a manner to ensure that product(s) is quoted properly and to ensure good customer relations;
- Ability to prioritize and manage time;
- Assist with MWDBE plan development, plan execution and continual compliance;
- Experience with estimating software and Excel a plus;
- Knowledge of Model based estimating platforms desirable.
