Finance and Accounting Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Finance and Accounting Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Reconciling key accounts such as inventory, payables and intercompany balances on a weekly basis;
- Experience in manufacturing and/or start-up company experience preferred but not required;
- Fine-tuning the company’s chart of accounts as the company grows and defining accounting policies and procedures across the three companies;
- Coordinating with external parties in any auditing processes;
- Establish client expectations and effectively communicate to appropriate parties. Advise client on staffing solutions;
- Develop and execute daily plan;
- None required;
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance;
- Support outside accountancy to ensure BYBE complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings;
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, and A/P;
- Additional controller duties as necessary;
- Manage monthly general ledger activities; review and process adjusting and recurring journal entries, performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- Develop change-in-scope documents for ongoing trials;
- Drive and support process improvements and the development of systematic processes.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Accounting preferred;
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;
- Proven working experience as an Accountant and/or Finance professional;
- Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting processes;
- NetSuite experience a bonus;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface comfortably at all levels both internally and externally;
- Knowledge of principles and practices of organizing, planning, records management, and budgetary processes;
- 5 years of experience in the conduct of clinical research and/or contract management/pricing;
- 3-6 years experience at a national/global public accounting firm; Flexible on title commensurate with years of experience;
- Minimum of ten years of experience with increasing responsibility in accounting working for a Government Contractor;
- Must have reliable transportation which affords timely travel to client sites within assigned territory;
- Advanced proficiency in use of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and other accounting software;
- Able to thrive and multitask in a high-growth, fast-paced, ever-changing environment;
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of drug development services;
- Results-oriented with superior technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
