Our company is looking for a Financial Aid Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Order office supplies and maintain supply of financial aid applications, brochures and forms;
  • Daily review and distribution of phone calls and financial aid department emails;
  • Actively participates in special projects and innovative development of office processes;
  • Handle routine financial aid inquiries, drop in advising questions, status inquiries and follow-ups by phone, email and in person;
  • Prepares and monitors Financial Aid exit counseling packages and communications;
  • Monitors Financial Aid Self-Service Module for maintenance and updates;
  • Serves as quality assurance for submitted electronic documents;
  • Maintains and updates federal ISIR Guide & Comment Codes;
  • Oversees the receipt of State of Mississippi student grants and financial aid funding;
  • Monitors student loan applications, responding to variances as needed;
  • Oversees all application and communication flow for financial aid documents;
  • Processes student transfer monitoring through NSLDS as required by federal regulation;
  • Manage all data transmissions with the Department of Education, including testing, interfacing with COD, ISIR processes, etc;
  • Respond to incoming Financial Aid mailbox inquiries on a daily basis.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with needs analysis methodology, application and verification process;
  • Knowledge of Federal Title IV and state financial aid requirements;
  • Experience in a financial aid office or a higher education setting;
  • Experience with integrated student information systems (Datatel Colleague);
  • Knowledge of financial aid software and tools, including NSLDS;
  • Respond to incoming Financial Aid mailbox inquiries on a daily basis;
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues, faculty, students, and visitors;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service via telephone, in-person, internet, and mail;
  • Coordinate the Federal Work-Study program;
  • Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen/physical and background check through the Department of Justice;
  • Provide assistance with the federal verification process and follow up with students in the collection of documents as requested;
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, high volume environment providing support.
