HR Consultant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a HR Consultant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as our compliance and training expert;
- Super flexible HR Rock Star who will effectively partner with client business owners and executives as an extension of their employee management team;
- Consult effectively in all areas of generalist Human Resource issues;
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and resolves problems; advises client in appropriate resolution of employee issues;
- Contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate our clients’ culture as they grow and scale;
- Prepares installation for new clients and prepare customized handbook addendum based on guidelines;
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, disability, 401(k) plans, vacation, sick leave, and FMLA in compliance with ACA;
- Provides on site training for clients for topics such as; interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, and sexual harassment;
- Work onsite with client(s) regularly, identifying business needs as a data-informed partner;
- Prepares employee separation notices and DUA claims, and provides COBRA calculations and documentation;
- Ensure HR practices, systems, tools, policies, and procedures are aligned with our clients’ visions and values;
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager;
- Assist in the design, development, implementation, and continued enhancement of policies and procedures, handbooks, etc;
- Plans and conducts benefit orientations when needed at client sites;
- Build and/or refine employment policies and practices.
Requirements:
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality;
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to drive programs independently;
- Review and coordinate the client’s employment, employee/labor relations, personnel, and equal opportunity policies and practices;
- Familiarity with HRIS, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, employee relations, etc;
- Provides clients with employee relations counseling and coaching;
- Ability to drive to client sites on occasion throughout New England area;
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization;
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field;
- Continues to educate oneself on new aspects and areas of compliance in payroll, benefits and human resources as the opportunity arises;
- Provides Federal and State legislation compliance guidance pertaining to all HR matters;
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insures client’s compliance;
- Ability to adapt to frequent change and manage competing demands;
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned;
- Work on special projects for clients if needed;
- Participates in professional development sessions and trainings.
