Responsibilities:
- Maximize insurance reimbursements through routine billing audits;
- Process claims to patients vision plans and/or medical plans;
- Verify patient data for accurate billing; process monthly patient statements;
- Ready delinquent accounts for collections;
- Help patients understand their insurance coverage;
- Process delinquent accounts for collections.
Requirements:
- Extremely detail-oriented; strong problem-solving skills; excellent communicator;
- Basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures/practices experience;
- Medical billing/collection practices knowledge preferred;
- Knowledge of general business office procedures; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Prior experience as an Insurance Specialist; optical office experience preferred but not required;
- Medical billing experience required; optometry setting preferred;
- Front office/medical billing/basic coding experience and Spanish speaking preferred;
- Proficient in computer skills-Microsoft Word Excel.
