Responsibilities:

  • Maximize insurance reimbursements through routine billing audits;
  • Process claims to patients vision plans and/or medical plans;
  • Verify patient data for accurate billing; process monthly patient statements;
  • Ready delinquent accounts for collections;
  • Help patients understand their insurance coverage;
  • Process delinquent accounts for collections.

Requirements:

  • Extremely detail-oriented; strong problem-solving skills; excellent communicator;
  • Basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures/practices experience;
  • Medical billing/collection practices knowledge preferred;
  • Knowledge of general business office procedures; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Prior experience as an Insurance Specialist; optical office experience preferred but not required;
  • Medical billing experience required; optometry setting preferred;
  • Front office/medical billing/basic coding experience and Spanish speaking preferred;
  • Proficient in computer skills-Microsoft Word Excel.
