Learning and Development Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate individual and organizational development needs;
- Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities;
- Track budgets and negotiate contracts;
- Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings;
- Help managers develop their team members through career pathing;
- Create and execute learning strategies and programs;
- Hire and oversee Training and L&D Specialists;
- Extract LMS data for analysis. Provide reports on the status of training completions, effectiveness, and other operational metrics;
- Work cross-functionally with subject matter experts to define key content areas;
- Manage eLearning content in our Learning Management System (LMS) to reflect our most current product/service offerings, and policies/procedures;
- Present training via eLearning or virtual classroom/webinar;
- Globalize existing and future L&D programs to office locations and remote employees;
- Align the Company services with client needs through an understanding of business plans and small- to medium-sized business operations;
- Present ideas effectively, delivering presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience;
- Deliver training content that is tailored to the specific needs of the client.
Requirements:
- Ability to comfortably interact with all levels of employees, including frontline team members through executive leadership;
- Excellent time management skills (prioritizing and follow-up);
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum, and managing to project due dates;
- Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS);
- Professional certification (e.g. CPLP, CPTM) is a plus;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen;
- Professional Certification(s): DISC preferred;
- 3-5 years’ experience in the delivery of learning and development programs;
- Training certification (DDI) is preferred, or must be obtained within 3-4 months of hire date;
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred;
- Proven experience as an L&D or Training Manager/Specialist or similar;
- Create curriculum to organize and develop understanding of both technical, customer service and procedure skills;
- Adheres to industry best practices and standards when developing learning and performance solutions;
- Utilize training platforms and tools to onboard new hires on company strategies, workflows and best practices;
- Work with stakeholders to understand key business drivers, identify performance gaps and develop effective trainings to build all skill levels.
