Mortgage Loan Originator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Sales of residential mortgage loans to prospective borrowers;
- Taking loan applications;
- Structures Loans to meet borrower needs;
- Manages Borrower Data Quality;
- Facilitates and Communicates Loan Status;
- Building a network of Real Estate professionals, builders, and professional/personal contacts;
- Performs duties while complying with Federal and State Laws and GBCI/WSB policies;
- Directs work flow of assigned assistant;
- Required to be a highly visible, positive representative of WSB internally and in the community;
- Meeting with members as necessary during various stages of the loan process;
- Actively participates in WSB continuing education;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Minimum of 4 years of job-related experience in the Mortgage industry;
- Active NMLS;
- Proven track record of business development;
- Strong business development skills;
- NMLS Florida Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator;
- Effectively discuss underwriting guidelines with underwriters, and influence their decision;
- Troubleshoot loans solving front and back ratio issues when they arise (no loan denials);
- Proficient with computers, paperless, digital;
- Research, find and correctly interpret mortgage guidelines;
- Comfortable and experienced in sales over-the-phone;
- Comfortable in a learning (not teaching) environment;
- Able to deal with rejection.
