Product Owner Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Product Owner to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Establish initiatives and align with cross-functional goals;
- Manages requirements and product features, prioritizing the team backlog of work in alignment with client priorities;
- Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems;
- Represents the business unit to define requirements and business cases for the technology developments;
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ensure that the agile team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on;
- Provide detailed user stories to the agile team, based on priority backlog items;
- Intellectually curious;
- Articulate and explain designs and constraints to stakeholders after understanding customer perspective. Ensure compliance to internal tools;
- Creation, revision and ownership of the technical knowledge repository for a family of products;
- Work with engineering teams to continuously improve product ownership and other agile processes;
- Maintains the team at full capacity;
- Provide technical and other guidance as required to the team and assess the performance of the associates;
- Work with other product leads and teams to collaboratively identify dependencies, develop plans and mitigate risks;
- Providing sprint goal and new user stories for sprint planning, as well as feedback regarding the achievement of the sprint goal in the sprint review.
Requirements:
- Ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organization;
- Experience with Altlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence);
- Web Application knowledge;
- BS Degree;
- Prefer experience with Jira, TFS or another backlog management tool Expertise in Agile methodologies;
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to present complex ideas simply;
- Experience with ERP reporting or business intelligence products;
- Strong analytical, product/project management, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities and make critical decisions;
- 8+ years of professional experience;
- Possess strong computer expertise and the ability to learn new applications and technologies rapidly;
- Experience in the transportation industry is a major benefit;
- Certifications: Agile, Pragmatic Marketing, Project Management, Scrum Product Owner;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
