Our company is looking for a referral coordinator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform prescription refills;
- Review details and expectations about the referral with patients;
- Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner;
- Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information;
- Identify and utilize cultural and community resources. Establish and maintain relationships with identified service providers;
- Specialty physician, outside testing, and PCP coordination and follow up to include extensive documentation in the EHR system;
- Patient eligibility, preauthorization, and benefit estimation;
- Clinical Integration;
- Associate’s degree plus four (4) years’ experience working in an ambulatory health care clinic OR;
- Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years’ experience working in an ambulatory health care clinic, OR;
- High school diploma plus six (6) years’ working in an ambulatory health care clinic;
- Navigation, upkeep, and user management of insurance websites;
- Use of the recall system to follow up with patients designated as high-risk.
Requirements:
- Proven interpersonal problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
- Previous medical office experience preferred;
- Detail oriented;
- The individual in this role must exercise proper phone etiquette and have the ability to navigate proficiently through computer software systems;
- Must be team-oriented and work extremely well with patients, colleagues, physicians and other personnel in a professional and courteous manner;
- Able to Multi-Task;
- Curious and with desire to learn;
- Effective interpersonal relationship and customer service skills;
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Good work ethic;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Must be detail-oriented, possess the ability to multi-task and be open to cross-functionally training in referrals duties;
- Completed the following level of education: High school or equivalent;
- Good problem solving skills in a complex environment;
- Good organizational and time management skills.
