Our company is looking for a referral coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform prescription refills;
  • Review details and expectations about the referral with patients;
  • Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner;
  • Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information;
  • Identify and utilize cultural and community resources. Establish and maintain relationships with identified service providers;
  • Specialty physician, outside testing, and PCP coordination and follow up to include extensive documentation in the EHR system;
  • Patient eligibility, preauthorization, and benefit estimation;
  • Clinical Integration;
  • Associate’s degree plus four (4) years’ experience working in an ambulatory health care clinic OR;
  • Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years’ experience working in an ambulatory health care clinic, OR;
  • High school diploma plus six (6) years’ working in an ambulatory health care clinic;
  • Navigation, upkeep, and user management of insurance websites;
  • Use of the recall system to follow up with patients designated as high-risk.

Requirements:

  • Proven interpersonal problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Previous medical office experience preferred;
  • Detail oriented;
  • The individual in this role must exercise proper phone etiquette and have the ability to navigate proficiently through computer software systems;
  • Must be team-oriented and work extremely well with patients, colleagues, physicians and other personnel in a professional and courteous manner;
  • Able to Multi-Task;
  • Curious and with desire to learn;
  • Effective interpersonal relationship and customer service skills;
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Good work ethic;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Must be detail-oriented, possess the ability to multi-task and be open to cross-functionally training in referrals duties;
  • Completed the following level of education: High school or equivalent;
  • Good problem solving skills in a complex environment;
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
