Our company is looking for a Research and Development Associate to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- To lead in special projects concerning products, processes, equipment, and facility concepts and design;
- Perform behavior studies;
- Record keeping in written and electronic laboratory notebooks;
- Utilizes practical and technical abilities both of his/her own and/or other team members, make changes, and is adaptive as required;
- To advise and guide, as requested, other R&D team members and other departments throughout BBU, on scientific/technical matters as necessary;
- Inventory management;
- Interact with CROs for timely execution and delivery of studies;
- Assist in the design, planning and execution of experiments in cell culture, biochemical, and molecular biology studies;
- Deal effectively and professionally with outside ingredient supplier to meet R&D objectives (keeping Purchasing informed);
- To write reports/memos from time to time on current status of developments;
- Interface with operations personnel in all facilities to effectively and efficiently implement product development objective to completion;
- Perform colony management;
- Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, western blotting, RNA extraction;
- Design and execute experimentation using established procedures, interpret results and translate results into possible solutions;
- Assist with live and terminal sample collection.
Requirements:
- Flow cytometry;
- BS/MS in a biology related discipline;
- Strong in vivo experience with rodents, including dosing, breeding, behavior observations, necropsy;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- 2 years of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and qPCR;
- BS degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; min 1 year in industry;
- Must be able to work in an innovative, fast-paced and team-oriented environment;
- western blot; immunoprecipitation;
- Experience with dosing routes (IP, IV, PO);
- Experience with the following techniques, are a plus.
