Residential Construction Project Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Residential Construction Project Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports;
- Supervise the work of technicians and give them guidance when needed;
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements;
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, etc. to determine the specifications of the project;
- Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies;
- Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities;
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities;
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met;
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations;
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
Requirements:
- Provide on-site supervision of crews and technicians, track progress and performance in field and report to Production Manager and office staff;
- Maintain daily communication with customers for ongoing projects;
- Resolve punchlist items on-site as necessary;
- Interface with customers for pre-construction meetings, final inspections, and address any questions or concerns during job progress;
- Proven experience as a Residential Construction Project Manager;
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills;
- In-depth understanding of residential construction procedures and material and project management principles;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software;
- A team player with leadership abilities;
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
