Sales Design Consultant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sales Design Consultant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with flooring choices (explain features/benefits, etc.);
- Maintain showroom by keeping samples and displays neat, current, and clean;
- Help customers with their choice through decorating and/or design advice;
- Prospect for new business;
- Answer questions from customers about flooring;
- Greet customers on the sales floor, and determine their wants and needs;
- Use computer database to research the availability of merchandise and to process orders;
- Provide outstanding customer service;
- Receive payment or obtain credit authorization;
- Sell flooring and floor care products;
- Keep up-to-date on the wide select of floors we have to offer along with the benefits and warranties provided by each;
- Build client relationships;
- Follow up in a timely and professional manner with all customers on requests and/or concerns;
- Help work through, and follow-up after, the completion of each job;
- Network regularly, and work effectively, with other store employees.
Requirements:
- Polished; professional dress is required;
- Take initiative to network/develop relationships outside the showroom to grow YOUR business within the community as well as broaden your skill set;
- Prior furniture experience is not required, although appreciated;
- Outgoing personality and FANTASTIC attitude;
- Ability to plan for (written) commission sales & follow up on ALL clients to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly goals;
- Weekends and furniture holidays are a must (Flexibility during slower months);
- Willingness to LISTEN & LEARN, whether you are a veteran or newbie in this industry;
- A passion for, or experience with, decorating or design;
- Open and flexible work availability, including weekends;
- Some college is preferred, but not necessary;
- Retail sales experience strong preferred;
- Must have access to reliable transportation in order to get to work, and to visit customers’ home (as necessary);
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to learn our operating systems.
