Our company is looking for a Sales Design Consultant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with flooring choices (explain features/benefits, etc.);
  • Maintain showroom by keeping samples and displays neat, current, and clean;
  • Help customers with their choice through decorating and/or design advice;
  • Prospect for new business;
  • Answer questions from customers about flooring;
  • Greet customers on the sales floor, and determine their wants and needs;
  • Use computer database to research the availability of merchandise and to process orders;
  • Provide outstanding customer service;
  • Receive payment or obtain credit authorization;
  • Sell flooring and floor care products;
  • Keep up-to-date on the wide select of floors we have to offer along with the benefits and warranties provided by each;
  • Build client relationships;
  • Follow up in a timely and professional manner with all customers on requests and/or concerns;
  • Help work through, and follow-up after, the completion of each job;
  • Network regularly, and work effectively, with other store employees.

Requirements:

  • Polished; professional dress is required;
  • Take initiative to network/develop relationships outside the showroom to grow YOUR business within the community as well as broaden your skill set;
  • Prior furniture experience is not required, although appreciated;
  • Outgoing personality and FANTASTIC attitude;
  • Ability to plan for (written) commission sales & follow up on ALL clients to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly goals;
  • Weekends and furniture holidays are a must (Flexibility during slower months);
  • Willingness to LISTEN & LEARN, whether you are a veteran or newbie in this industry;
  • A passion for, or experience with, decorating or design;
  • Open and flexible work availability, including weekends;
  • Some college is preferred, but not necessary;
  • Retail sales experience strong preferred;
  • Must have access to reliable transportation in order to get to work, and to visit customers’ home (as necessary);
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to learn our operating systems.
