Our company is looking for a Sales & Use Tax Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members;
  • Research and draft technical memoranda regarding SALT questions;
  • Review information presented on state sales and use tax returns before, during, and after preparation;
  • Provide excellent client sales and use tax advisory and planning services to multi-state companies – approximately 60% of your time;
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position;
  • Account reconciliations supporting “should be” balance analysis through validation of account to internal management and external auditors;
  • Provide necessary support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance inquiries to include self-assessment;
  • Liaison with parent tax department and orchestrate all tax related activities including apportionment data for state income tax.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;
  • Ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment;
  • A minimum of five years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues;
  • 3+ years experience as government tax auditor or 5+ years experience in private sector SALT;
  • CPA membership a plus;
  • Federal and state income tax experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax law preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required;
  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian Sales, Use & VAT tax law;
  • Knowledge of Personal Property tax law;
  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), technically strong and confident with your accounting skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong research, analytical and problem solving skills are required;
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting;
  • CPA preferred. We will support your need to obtain appropriate CPE;
  • Accountability mindset with ability to support mentoring role with others throughout our Shared Services Accounting Group.
