Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare key quarterly and year-end financial reporting deliverables including margin analysis and footnote disclosures;
- Print related costs;
- Support quarterly closes by preparing financial reports, and analysis of reported balances;
- Record monthly distribution cash statements and prepare various quarterly accruals;
- Consolidate and communicate of operating results for theatrical to various senior management groups;
- Film Inventory;
- Preparation of quarter close entries, including master use revenue accruals, inventory activity, and obsolescence reserves;
- Distribution costs;
- Prepare monthly development and production spending packages for accuracy and provide explanations for any significant variances;
- Analyze and prepare various theatrical accruals: Marketing and advertising spend;
- Provide guidance and lead ad hoc requests/special projects/reports;
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including royalty liabilities, prepaid expense, and inventory;
- Prepaid Assets;
- Preparation and analysis of recorded music royalty expense and liability reports;
- Preparation and analysis of artist and repertoire (A&R) and marketing accruals and reports.
Requirements:
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently;
- Ability to manage competing priorities;
- Customer Service Oriented;
- Ability to assess and prioritize financial statement risk and internal controls across multiple segments and business units;
- 3-4 years accounting experience, preferably in both public and private accounting;
- Possess good quantitative and analytical skills;
- A strong understanding of internal controls and control environments;
- Ability to travel for business as needed;
- Ability to interact with all levels of management;
- Minimum experience of two years in accounting or auditing with a large multi-national company or Big 4 accounting firm;
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
- CPA;
- Excellent communication skills. Strong analytical skills;
- Bonus points if the candidate has a CPA, although not required;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access) and reporting applications. SAP system experience desired.
