Our company is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile various inventory accounts monthly and maintain control of key areas of balance sheet;
  • Develop revenue/expense analysis, projections, reporting and present to leadership;
  • Prepares the accounting for unique or complex transactions;
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and BIIB accounting policy and procedures;
  • Reviews monthly intercompany settlement process;
  • Leads completion of the monthly close process for assigned areas;
  • Review and Analyze inventory manufacturing variance, determine root cause analysis and take corrective action if necessary;
  • Processes GL transactions;
  • Prepares and reviews management reports;
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of regular tasks performed by the team;
  • Calculates company expenses and fees;
  • Reviews accounting transactions, GL accounts, and reconciliations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
  • Manage month end inventory close. Analyze actual vs. planned results;
  • Identify financial and environmental trends, compile data and present findings to senior leadership;
  • Advanced Excel skills (in macros).

Requirements:

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;
  • SAP experience preferred;
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to work comfortably with the Microsoft Office suite;
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Advanced Excel skills (in macros);
  • Strong proficiency in Excel;
  • Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment;
  • Experience using Alteryx (utilized to streamline tasks and group files and do calculations and assist by troubleshooting issues team may be having);
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • GAAP and SEC reporting experience is preferred but not required;
  • Requires a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related function;
  • General knowledge of mutual funds or experience in the investment management industry is preferred;
  • Prior public accounting experience in the entertainment industry is a plus;
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data;
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, and experience with an enterprise accounting system (such as SAP).
