Our company is looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides annual reconciliation of assigned grants for State Auditor;
  • Analyze historical and budgeted financial information to project future financial performance and lost profits;
  • Assists with reconciliation and analysis of CIP Funds and determination of CIP funding;
  • Must have the ability to multitask different aspects of a project while adhering to applicable deadlines;
  • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality;
  • Coordinates with employees in multiple departments to verify that asset and liability accounts are balanced on a regular basis;
  • Utilize forensic accounting skills to determine and quantify financial losses, including those with respect to fidelity or property insurance claims;
  • Maintains spreadsheets supporting CIP/Utility funding;
  • Monitors assigned budgets throughout the year to ensure proper posting of expenditures;
  • Perform industry and company research using various online platforms and publicly available information;
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed;
  • Prepares and maintains all documentation required to support assigned grants;
  • Perform day-to-day interaction with other team members and client personnel;
  • Perform detailed analyses, both qualitative and quantitative, which will be delivered to clients and other parties.

Requirements:

  • High energy and enthusiasm, ability to learn quickly, make an immediate impact, and provide value-added service to our clients;
  • Leading and coaching Associates to execute client deliverables and grow professionally;
  • 2 to 4 years of prior work experience in accounting or finance. Audit experience with Big 4 or other major accounting firms is preferred;
  • Collaborating with Accounting Controllers, Managers, and Associates to support and balance multiple client needs;
  • Periodically supporting Senior Leadership on strategic initiatives and operational improvements;
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field;
  • Maintaining and optimizing Client Process Handbook;
  • Corporate accounting and/or finance experience at a large public corporation is a plus but not required;
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Fully owning certain ongoing client relationships while supporting Managers on others. Ongoing work may include;
  • Participating in “tech pilots” to test and implement the latest industry software innovations and productivity tools;
  • Effectively and clearly communicating with clients and coworkers across various channels;
  • Certified Public Accountant or in progress;
  • Managing bill payments and invoicing for clients in a timely fashion;
  • Managing monthly close and financial statement generation.
