The Senior General Ledger Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Being a Senior General Ledger Accountant analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. In addition, Senior General Ledger Accountant may supervise and guide lower-level accountants. Requires a bachelor’s degree. May require CPA certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Senior General Ledger Accountant contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Our company is looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare intercompany eliminations;
  • Record lease entries in accordance with ASC 842;
  • Work with other departments to obtain necessary information to create monthly/quarterly accruals;
  • Work closely with international teams for monthly financial reporting and consolidations;
  • Analyze and describe balance sheet and operating expense fluctuations;
  • Perform quarterly financial statement flux analysis;
  • Prepare and document journal entries and reconciliations relating to balance sheet accounts;
  • Prepare account reconciliations for assigned areas in a timely manner;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflow quality;
  • Record fixed asset purchases to the subledger for the parent company and subsidiaries;
  • Liaise with internal and external audit for mid-year and year-end audit support;
  • Support accounting process for South America operations;
  • Perform other related accounting duties as assigned;
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year end close and financial reporting information;
  • Record and track rebates.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate / GL function or combination with public accounting;

  • Highly motivated, flexible, while maintaining attention to detail;
  • Excellent general ledger system, computer and business solutions software skills;
  • A relevant University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required.
