Our company is looking for a Senior Manager, Business Tax Services to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets;
- Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice;
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experience;
- Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the first point of contact for internal and external clients;
- Team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice;
- Manage teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projects;
- Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients;
- Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm;
- Contribute to the growth, experience, and institutional knowledge of the Closely Held Business/Family Office tax practice team members;
- Manage financial performance of and risk associated with engagements, including budgeting, billing, and collections on projects;
- Provide tax provision, compliance, and advisory services to a variety of clients from Fortune 100 to emerging businesses;
- Deliver high quality tax planning and advisory services to existing KPMG tax compliance clients;
- Understand the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting asset management clients;
- Manage team of tax professionals and other staff working on client projects;
- Play supporting or leadership role (depending on previous experience) in managing tax compliance client portfolios.
Requirements:
- A minimum of eight years of tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm;
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;
- Excellent advisory, compliance, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information;
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740;
- A minimum of five years of corporate tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm;
- Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information;
- Licensed CPA or J.D./LL.M;
- Experience with ASC 740;
- Previous experience as an associate at a top-tier law firm, or as a tax manager with a public accounting firm;
- Strong project and people management skills or a passion for developing them (depending on experience);
- Minimum of five years of tax experience in the asset management industry (investment partnership and/or REIT experience required);
- Applied working knowledge of financial and tax accounting for investments;
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and licensed CPA or J.D./LL.M;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
