Senior Product Owner Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Product Owner to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the system users and the user experiences;

- Define and execute the release plan to incorporate internal teams as needed to ensure a successful go-live of the product;

- Clearly expressing Product Backlog items so they are easily understood by the team ;
- Collaborate with Product Managers to translate the business requirements into user stories and system requirements;
- Execute on the product roadmap and translate high level strategies into manageable stories and product backlog;
- Regularly reviewing the priority of the Backlog to ensure the priority is correct and checking Sprint planning reflects the priority ;
- Ensure the proper prioritization, sequencing, and dependency mitigation by communicating with various delivery and customer service teams;
- Manage day-to-day priorities with engineering teams and escalate trade-offs with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Experience in the transportation industry is a major benefit;
- Strong analytical skills, and the ability to understand high level and low level business and technical concepts;
- Possess strong computer expertise and the ability to learn new applications and technologies rapidly;
- Experience in building and launching mobile applications;
- Strong planning, organization, and collaborative skills;
- Manage day-to-day priorities with engineering teams and escalate trade-offs with stakeholders;
- Experience with AGILE/SCRUM methodology and processes;
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentat ion skills; excellent interpersonal skills;
- Outstanding presentation skills and ability to create outstanding power point graphics;
- EXPERIENCE: 4+ years Equivalent experience in a R&D or business environment desirable. Must have transportation industry experience;
- Execute on the product roadmap and translate high level strategies into manageable stories and product backlog;
- 7+ years of relevant experience in product management ;
- Experience working directly with UX design and software engineers to ship product ;
- Experience with owning multiple products both successful and unsuccessful, through the entire product life cycle;
- Strong organizational skills.
