Senior Project Scheduler Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Project Scheduler to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with Program Management and functional teams to develop workarounds/recovery schedules;
- Familiar with data sources and supports basic schedule development;
- Supports analysis of schedule, identifies and investigates project schedule variances;
- Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance;
- Familiar with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods;
- Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management and earned value methodology;
- Knowledgeable of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance;
- Supports monthly report preparation;
- Supports measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating;
- Day-to-day Schedule Maintenance, Weekly status, and provisioning Schedule reports;
- Previous work experience on large military projects with forensic and medical focus on qualifications;
- Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding. Supports basic schedule development;
- May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues;
- Developing new schedules based on aerospace project lifecycle events (e.g. Engineering V);
- Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.
Requirements:
- High bias for action and integrative thinking skills;
- Knowledge of aerospace industry;
- Certifications: PM, PMP or SP preferred;
- Ability to work with team members located across the globe;
- Recognized leader within peer group and a willingness to champion change in a rapidly evolving environment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field;
- Microsoft ProjectⓇ Experience: minimum of 10 years including developing resource loaded schedules and complex schedules;
- Microsoft ExcelⓇ Experience: expert understanding of Excel functions, pivot tables, and charts/graphs;
- Minimum Years of Experience in Aerospace: 10 years of applicable experience in program environment;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Experience in using MS Project for reporting and to perform more advance analysis functions;
- Development of Excel macros in VBA to accelerate IMS updates;
- Experience in working with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for federal government clients;
- Other Microsoft OfficeⓇ: Expert in WordⓇ, PowerPointⓇ, & VisioⓇ
