Senior Quantitative Researcher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Quantitative Researcher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as a technical or project lead on research projects and internal R&D efforts, as well as participating in project meetings;
- Working with non-standard data sources that utilize multiple raw data files combined into a master data file.
Requirements:
- Previous exposure to alpha factor research, equity markets and various forecasting methodologies;
- Experience with financial databases;
- Financial engineering experience including quantitative back-testing and financial modelling;
- Knowledge of multiple statistical analysis platforms (Stata and R are preferred) and Microsoft Office applications;
- A minimum of eight years of experience (post-degree) leading research projects;
- Applicants will be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information;
- Experience working with government agencies, such as HHS, CDC, FDA, or similar is preferred;
- Experience working with existing datasets and integrating from multiple sources preferred;
- Familiarity with parametric and non-parametric techniques with professional statistical and mathematical skills;
- U.S. citizen;
- Demonstrated writing skills either from Ph.D. work, publications or relevant work experience;
- Familiarity with Python, C++, R, SAS or Matlab;
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Graduate degree in statistics, social science, public policy, quantitative psychology, survey methodology, or related field.
