Our company is looking for a Senior Tax Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally manage and build both client and team relationships;
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Interface with client personnel to obtain information and delivery a high quality project on time and on budget;
  • Preparing complex Tax returns – approximately 25-40% of your time;
  • Prepare and gather apportionment information for state tax returns;
  • Learn and begin to apply growth process (participates in assigned RC,, pipeline support, COPs, etc.);
  • Provide timely and unmatched client service, exceeding client expectations;
  • Assist in supervising, developing and coaching professional tax staff;
  • Supervises the engagement (job) project management, billing, ensures QC (technical) standards;
  • Contribute to BKD sponsored technical guidance for internal and external publication and to internal learning and development sessions;
  • Participate in the proposal process for potential new clients;
  • Develop and edit correspondence, memoranda, and other client deliverables as needed;
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities;
  • Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm;
  • Undertake tax compliance assignments for corporate, partnership and individual returns.

Requirements:

  • Must have a strong sense of ownership for delivering high quality service and excellent supervisory, team building and time management skills;
  • Highly proficient in Excel;
  • CPA;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Prior basic supervisory experience preferred;
  • CPA eligible, with certification plan;
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical ability;
  • Vertex O-Series and Vertex Return, preferred;
  • 3+ years recent public accounting tax experience; individual and business experience is a must;
  • Strong accounting, analytical skill and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information;
  • OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision experience, preferred;
  • Some planning experience;
  • Masters of Accounting.
