Senior Training Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Training Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Critically reviews one’s own work and independently initiates improvements or refinements;
- Work with legislative professionals who coordinate training programs to promote NCSL’s offerings;
- Customize and deliver high quality training experiences to bipartisan legislative and legislative staff audiences;
- Assist in conducting surveys of legislators and legislative staff to determine training needs;
- Identify opportunities and initiate ideas for presentations, publications, workshops, and articles;
- In conjunction with the training team, develop and maintain professional development modules that meet the needs of legislators and legislative staff;
- Performs other responsibilities as needed;
- Use process improvement techniques to develop, evaluate, propose and implement modifications to existing development initiatives and program;
- Knowledge of virtual workshop facilitation, certification a plus;
- Capable of building strong relationships, and influencing without direct authority;
- BA degree in Training & Organizational Development, Education, HR, Business or related subject;
- Capacity to embrace change and learn new technologies;
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors a plus;
- 2-3 years’ experience in a coordination related position;
- Experience with learning management systems preferred.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and methods for curriculum design;
- Program measurement knowledge;
- Considerable knowledge of training theory, principles and techniques;
- Bachelors’ degree with a concentration in Training & Development, Organizational Development or Human Resources Development preferred;
- Experience in behavioral and leadership development;
- Prior management or supervisory experience a plus;
- Working knowledge of eLearning development software such as Captivate or Articulate;
- Knowledge of curriculum design using Instructional Systems Design framework;
- Knowledge of on the job application;
- Working knowledge of Learning Management System;
- 3-5 years previous experience in training role.
