Our company is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in budgeting and review process with Finance and company stakeholders;
  • File regulatory forms, including sales and use, property and franchise taxes in collaboration with H-E-B;
  • Produce and analyze financial information and summarize financial status;
  • Month End/Year End Close;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned;
  • Responsible for international subsidiary intercompany cash management and related reconciliation of intercompany accounts;
  • Escalate issues and present recommendations to management;
  • Review prepared statements/ schedules for completeness and accuracy;
  • Ensure and review quality and efficiency of monthly account reconciliations;
  • Understand and own the end to end process flow, acting as the link between the front/middle office and Finance;
  • Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls;
  • Provide hands-on assistance with regards to reporting;
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and analyses;
  • Ability to document procedures and workflow in assigned areas of responsibility;
  • Work cross-functionally: Collaborate with teams across Expedia Group to ensure appropriate revenue recognition, drive projects, improve processes…

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment;
  • Strong, consistent work ethic with a keen attention to details and ability to focus on the big picture;
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP;
  • Lending experience or financial business services experience preferred;
  • Previous experience with financial reporting, quarterly reports, audits, preparing portfolios and compliance experience;
  • Expertise in methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in financial reporting and data analysis;
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Exhibit the interpersonal skills needed to maintain good working relationships with both Corporate and Field personnel across all departments;
  • Demonstrated ability to learn accounting and reporting applications in a short time period;
  • 3+ years’ of professional accounting experience;
  • Understand US GAAP accounting concepts and principles;
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and knowledge of US GAAP and analytical ability with a focus on understanding operations;
  • Strong PC skills required.
