Supply Chain Planning Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Supply Chain Planning Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate status of orders versus forecast and determine drivers of significant variation, making recommendations to drive forecast accuracy;
- Own and gain alignment on the forecast that is driving the supply plan;
- Utilize statistical modeling to develop forecasts;
- Monitor and report on important changes to sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies impacting demand;
- Identify and resolve supply exceptions by expediting purchase orders, re-allocating existing inventory and establishing safety stock parameters;
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation activities;
- Provide input into future planning tools to leverage for process and performance improvement;
- Demand Planning;
- Mange network of co-manufacturing partners to ensure attainment of production needs/goals;
- Lead monthly consensus meetings for both Demand and Supply;
- Collaborate with key cross-functional teams to model scenarios to recommend inventory strategies, establish inventory targets, and execute the plan;
- Monitor and manage aging inventory and take action to maintain freshness, as well as mitigate spoilage and product write-offs;
- Model various capacity scenarios to enable informed decision-making and appropriate risk-taking;
- Identify & communicate supply/demand conflicts and imbalances to determine trade offs & potential service/fill rate risks;
- Serve as the point-person for escalation of demand and supply-related issues.
Requirements:
- Travel time: Minimal;
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and data visualization;
- Results focused. Bias towards action, able to synthesize multiple pieces of information and act decisively;
- Knowledge of advanced planning solutions is a plus;
- A passion for natural food and healthy eating as well as a desire to change the way we think about ingredient labels;
- Exceptional organization skills and ability to follow and create new processes;
- High proficiency in tools used for data analysis such as Excel is a must;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Finance or other Operations related field;
- Must be a self-motivated and independent thinker;
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles and efficiency drivers;
- Excellent problem solving, organization and planning skills. A strong multi-tasker with a proven ability to prioritize and manage deadlines;
- Detail oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy;
- At least 3 years’ experience in the CPG food industry in supply chain, preferably in demand planning and supply planning;
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact and negotiate with employees at all levels of an organization;
- Must have exceptional analytical skills and be able to work with complex data.
