Tax Accountant I assists in the maintenance and preparation of tax-related items to include tax records, tax returns, tax schedules, and related tax reports. Helps with the preparation of local, state and federal level returns to be submitted within specified tax deadlines. Being a Tax Accountant I may require a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. The Tax Accountant I works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Our company is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Providing management with updated client status reports,
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts;
  • Prepare financial information for tax filings both in the US and internationally;
  • Maintain constant communication with the IRS, State Agencies, and our clients;
  • Conduct tax interviews with clients;
  • Work on IRS and state tax authorities’ correspondence;
  • Prepare financial information and serve as the liaison for international audits performed by international auditor firms;
  • Research tax issues;
  • Review corporate and personal income tax returns;
  • Tax Preparation using Ultra Tax and QuickBooks;
  • Multistate sales & use tax compliance;
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time;
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities in preparation and review of client assignments;
  • Follow safety procedures at all times.

Requirements:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills;

  • Minimum of one year business related working experience preferred;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities;
  • Minimum of 3+ years performing tax related work;
  • Able to thrive in deadline-driven environment;
  • Must have a degree in business, accounting or other related field;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions;
  • Experience with OneSource Property Tax software a plus, but not required;
  • Extremely organized with great communication skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required;
  • Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with constantly changing priorities;
  • Progress toward CPA or MBA preferred;
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.
