Tax Manager, Asset Management Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Tax Manager, Asset Management to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets;
- Manage teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projects;
- Advise clients and be accountable for delivering high quality tax service and advice;
- Provide tax compliance and advisory services to pass-through entities and partnerships for a variety of Asset Management clients;
- Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm;
- Assess tax impact on clients of rules and law changes, develop tax arguments to support conclusions and make recommendations to clients;
- Act as the first point of contact for internal and external clients;
- Manage client portfolios of various size and scope within the alternative investment fund industry (private equity, real estate and/or hedge funds);
- Deliver high quality tax services to clients;
- Team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice;
- Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients;
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experience.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of pass-through and partnership tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm;
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams;
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships and tiered investment fund structures;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information;
- A minimum of five years of tax experience in the alternative investment industry;
- A minimum of eight years of pass-through and partnership tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm;
- Experience with pass-through entities and partnerships;
- Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members;
- Experience with pass-through entities, partnerships and corporations;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex information;
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
