Transportation Coordinator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Review work orders and resolve issues with delivery date and schedules;
- Effectively communicate with sales staff;
- Ensure compliant with city and state regulations on weight, length, height, & width – issue permits as necessary;
- Communicate and track shipment issues to ensure proper feedback to the carriers;
- Assist with general transportation projects;
- Process transit pass requests and cancellations, audit passes, answer employee questions;
- Monitor the shared commute team email and reply to employee tickets as applicable;
- Ensure compliant with city and state regulations on weight, length, height, & width – issue permits as necessary;
- Work cross functionally with multiple teams and vendors across the business to provide excellent service;
- Answer incoming telephone calls and evaluate/direct calls to appropriate personnel;
- Prepares to address carrier and customer issues in a timely manner;
- Performs other duties as required;
- Maintains daily records and prepares documentation for all truck shipments;
- Maintaining records of maintenance and useage of vehicles and program services;
- Assisting with the continual development, implementation and evaluation of all transportation programs for all Senior Action constituents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Resourceful and proactive;
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
- Customer service experience is a plus;
- TDM experience encouraged;
- Basic computer skills including Excel;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or other related field;
- Individual must be organized, neat, clean and consistent;
- Advanced knowledge and high proficiency using PC based applications, specifically Excel, is required; experience with OTM and SAP preferred;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Must be in good mental and physical condition;
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment, i.e., scanner, copier, fax machine, calculator, etc;
- Must have a full understanding of inventory control, counting procedures, products and movement;
- Must be able to communicate well in a professional manner, possess excellent phone skills, read and understand written instructions.
