Our company is looking for a Underwriter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Review and follow up for loss control recommendations;
- Responsible for file maintenance and completeness;
- Adherence to Admiral underwriting guidelines and referral compliance;
- Act as referral authority for Associate Underwriters;
- Maintain an acceptable underwriting profit;
- Determine whether to accept, modify, or decline risks;
- Attend industry client centric events;
- Assist with the development of new products, services, process improvements, and marketing initiatives;
- Selecting individual risks with company product line pricing and underwriting guidelines;
- Achieve favorable rate and retention within given territory;
- Consistently meet or exceed designated LOB production metrics;
- Establish and maintain broker relationships though superior levels of service and direct broker engagement;
- When necessary, complete account transactions as required;
- Participates annually in audits of program administrators;
- Refer accounts outside of assigned underwriting authority with complete information and including a recommended course of action.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Banking and/or Payments products;
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Financial Statement Spreading Tools;
- 1-3 Years previous work experience in collections, credit, underwriting, or an equivalent occupation with progressive responsibilities;
- Ability to work in team driven environment, yet be able to work independently to complete daily tasks;
- Strong risk management skills;
- Demonstrated ability to be persuasive and to negotiate;
- Demonstrated ability to mentor associate UW’s;
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change as the company moves forward in its strategic vision;
- College degree preferred;
- Must have 2-5 years of underwriting experience;
- Solid background in risk analysis;
- Must have valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing;
- Demonstrate proficiency in usage of all supplied desktop tools, including the automated underwriting and email systems;
- Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate and develop producer relationships;
- Knowledge of emerging Technology hazards, trends and concepts preferred.
