Child and Family Therapist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Child and Family Therapist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Keep accurate client records according to JFS and best practice;
- Provide ongoing clinical counseling to children and families;
- Attend supervision, case consultations, staff meetings, and staff development activities;
- Other duties as requested by supervisor;
- Function as part of the JFS team to meet the needs of clients and the agency;
- Design and facilitate support groups and psychoeducational offerings.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred;
- Two (2) years of experience and Florida Licensure preferred;
- Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License with full-time access to a reliable vehicle (proof of vehicle insurance is required.);
- Experience providing therapy to children and families in community-based settings strongly preferred;
- Registration with the BBS or Board of Psychology required;
- Knowledge of psychodynamic and evidence-based practices in mental health preferred;
- Experience with Medi-Cal and/or Avatar documentation is desirable;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability be a team player with a welcoming attitude;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Strong individual and family assessment skills and proficiency using DSM-5 and ICD-10 desirable;
- Possession of a valid CA Driver’s license and access to a vehicle with proper insurance.
