Our company is looking for a Marketing Communications Intern to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing promotional events, tradeshows, and conferences while managing all project delivery elements within time limits;
  • Perform research into potential clients, collaborators, and competitors;
  • Management of department spreadsheets and databases;
  • Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes;
  • Support Marketing Manager and Director as needed;
  • Include support for event planning and management;
  • Assist with identifying, designing, writing, editing and/or coordinating: proposals, qualifications , client presentations;
  • Assist marketing team with meeting coordination and team communications;
  • Be actively involved with major external and internal partner portals with content creation and administrative management and support;
  • Update and maintain Harbor House’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and SnapChat;
  • Assist with designing flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for major events hosted by Harbor House;
  • Draft, distribute, and pitch press releases, media alerts, and other stories;
  • Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly eNewsletter;
  • Manage social media post schedules on HootSuite or related calendar application;
  • Attend development team meetings.

Requirements:

  • Digital strategy;

  • Strong writing skills;
  • A creative and innovative approach to communications and branding;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, and Word);
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts;
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines;
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Current sophomore standing or higher;
  • Strong communication and AP-style writing skills (able to adapt voice and content);
  • Can effectively communicate both written and orally;
  • Effective communicator with a wide variety of stakeholders;
  • Ability to analyze data in Excel and display key trends and takeaways;
  • Reliable transportation a must;
  • Firm grasp and extensive knowledge of managing social media accounts and staying up-to-date with social media trends and new applications.
