Associate Quality Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Associate Quality Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues;
- Makes the final decision on acceptability of product;
- Evaluate the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality;
- Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts;
- Lead and participate in various teams in support of the unit’s ACE goals;
- Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering;
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction;
- Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex;
- Designs and implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers;
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements;
- Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer;
- Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance;
- Leading teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions;
- Review and approve First Article inspections;
- Provide technical guidance and training to OEM Parts Inspectors.
Requirements:
- Ability to review, interpret and apply specifications to determine compliance with requirements;
- Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance);
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis tools;
- Ability to organize and track multiple activities and prioritize task based on importance;
- Ability to travel;
- Technical Degree, preferably in Electrical or Industrial Engineering;
- Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc;
- Ability to obtain a security clearance;
- Demonstrated problem solving skills;
- Technical Degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline;
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools and processes;
- Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration;
- Effective communication skills: written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing;
- Demonstrated presentation skills.
