Magento Developer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Magento Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Write unit tests to ensure a high-quality deliverable into QA;
- Follow & Contribute to the organizational best practices/policies;
- Collaborate with a team of developers (including remote teams), test engineers, support and product stakeholders;
- Formulate an implementation plan & prepare estimates for the assigned activities/work items;
- Participate/Lead in design discussions & meetings;
- Take ownership for design, development and maintenance;
- Develop and implement innovative and secure features and functionality for e-commerce;
- Participate in code reviews and technical quality standards within the project team;
- Work closely with the D2C Support Manager to keep apprised of all support activities and metrics;
- Maintain detailed notes and records for each ticket and fully communicate these to appropriate business users and team members;
- Applies appropriate IT processes, methods, policies, and standards in the completion of support work;
- Run small development initiatives or specific stages of projects as assigned;
- Review, develop and implement innovative features and functionality for tools and modules based on client need;
- Participate in Project Knowledge Transition and handoff during cutover, hypercare and closeout activities;
- Work closely with developers and other teams as well as independently on projects.
Requirements:
- Linux console;
- Store catalog (categories/products/attributes);
- Competent in authoring JavaScript and using libraries such as jQuery;
- Thorough experience in customizing Magento’s front-end components using layout XML, blocks, and templates;
- A desire to be personally responsible for production-level code;
- Ingenuity to leverage all available tools at your disposal;
- Expertise in authoring and extending Magento extensions;
- Experience in ERP integrations with Magento is a huge plus;
- Contributions to the open-source community;
- Experience with Zurb Foundation;
- 5+ years Magento experience including implementing and supporting Magento 2;
- Magento Certification is a huge plus;
- A preoccupation with staying on top of industry trends and technologies;
- In-depth knowledge of PCI/PA-DSS compliance issues;
- Competent with MySQL-based database concepts.
