Plant Quality Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Plant Quality Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- You will conduct and/or implement advanced statistical analysis and process capabilities for processes and products;
- You will manage all change control and line validation processes again with a hands on mentality;
- May have some travel (less than 10% expected);
- Report to top management the performance of the Integrated Management System, including quality and environmental performance;
- Adhere to all automotive industry standards and regulations;
- Participate in product development processes to increase efficiency and customer requirement standards;
- Serve as the head liaison during both customer and supplier reviews/communication;
- Serve as primary contact for customer and quality audits;
- Maintain all quality standards to meet customer requirements;
- Perform all necessary supervisory duties as required;
- Oversee all external and internal quality audits;
- Review and adjust any quality assurance instructions and assembly specifications;
- Collaborate with R&D department during the stages of industrialization through production;
- Occasional overtime may be required;
- Ensures requirements of the ISO Quality Management System are met.
Requirements:
- Must have ability to progress up in future Plant Management roles and/or Director level roles;
- A minimum of 4 + years’ experience with a mixture of quality and operations leadership;
- Strong computer skills including MS Office products;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field of study, or equivalent experience along with High School diploma or GED;
- Additionally, we highly prefer an individual with a solid manufacturing excellence/TPM background;
- We expect you to have a BS in engineering or related field;
- Good communication skills – able to train others;
- Minimum of 2 years with the automotive or industrial manufacturing industry;
- BS in Engineering;
- Bachelor’s degree in some form of engineering or equivalent work experience;
- Some lifting, stretching, climbing involved when assisting in troubleshooting equipment issues;
- Strong management, leadership and organizational skills are required;
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs;
- A solid manufacturing excellence/TPM background;
- Light physical effort in using PC keyboard, handling department reports, etc.
