Principal Solutions Consultant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Principal Solutions Consultant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver strong “proof-of-concept” engagements that demonstrate business value and technical benefits as well as strong ROI;
- Creates detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products, applications and solutions;
- Define and present focused product demonstrations that illustrate how TIBCO software addresses the critical business issues that a prospect faces;
- Work with account managers to create sales plans and forecasts;
- Use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations;
- May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation;
- Responsible for selling the company’s products or services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts;
- Play a key role in uncovering opportunities to provide additional solutions within existing major accounts;
- Provides primarily pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions;
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel;
- Has expert level knowledge of company products and services and may be tasked with introducing new products;
- Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Requirements:
- Attends and completes in person, on demand, and online enablement for Sales and/or Presales as needed;
- Domain expertise in Customer Experience (CX) covering leading practices in sales, support or other customer engagement areas;
- Technical knowledge in web / scripting technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SaaS applications helpful;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, presentation and writing skills;
- Must be willing to work in a fast paced startup environment with multiple roles;
- Outstanding problem solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution;
- Experience with enterprise-grade customer management or customer experience solutions a plus;
- Obvious passion and people skills;
- Experience mapping RFI/RFP requirements to software solutions;
- Experience scoping, managing and executing customer pilots and Proof of Concepts;
- 7-10+ years of Mid Market/Enterprise software selling experience;
- Superior solution scoping abilities, using our existing solution and influencing new product development;
- Must be willing to travel;
- Previous presales or consulting experience implementing enterprise class software solutions;
- Typically requires 8-12 years of field sales experience. For many companies, this will be the most senior level within the organization.
