Our company is looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in educational activities;
  • Responsible for material and equipment procurement;
  • This position requires 50% to 65% travel throughout the US. The remaining office time is focused on engineering design for projects assigned;
  • Complete wiring and/or provide technical direction to craft labor for installation of new generator excitation and protection and controls equipment;
  • Travel to various sites for installations, system maintenance, or to conduct training on large generation control and protection systems;
  • Travel up to 50% of the time;
  • Create cases and manage them to resolution in the MS Dynamics CRM software system to respond to requests from our Customers and Channel Partners;
  • Become certified in the in-house Quality program;
  • Control expenses to maximize the profit contribution to the company;

  • Overtime is a requirement for this position and may be required with little or no advanced notice and at the sole discretion of Leica;
  • Potential to be certified as Qualified Trainer;
  • Perform warranty evaluations on site and on returned hardware;
  • Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external customers within established time guidelines to meet customer’s expectations;
  • Timely and accurate submittal of all required paperwork e.g. site reports, expense reports, etc.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience as a technician or engineer working with complex electromechanical, optical, micro/nanofludics platforms;
  • Comfortable working in fast paced, dynamic, start-up tech company environment;
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment maintaining production equipment;
  • Ability to lift up to 75lb;
  • Electrician with trade or vocational training;
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Understanding of and ability to implement electrical drawings, connection drawings, interconnection drawings, and schematics;
  • Seven to ten years of experience in design or field service engineering is desired;
  • Industrial or power plant experience required;
  • General knowledge of chemistry/biology;
  • Experience training team members in technical disciplines;
  • Technical curiosity and desire to solve problems;
  • Experience in medical workplace settings;
  • Field Service Engineer experience in the medical devices / lab instruments or related industry.
