SEO Strategist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a SEO Strategist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Educate yourself and clients on latest developments in organic search and convey potential business impacts;
- Coach and mentor junior SEO team members;
- Analyze reports and turn them into actionable insights;
- Undertake strategic research initiatives and provide insight into topical and keyword trends;
- Track, report, and analyze website analytics, digital initiatives, and campaigns;
- Work with content, social, and PPC teams to promote collaborative digital marketing strategies to aid other channels;
- Optimize, manage, and update Google My Business profiles;
- Develop and implement technical SEO strategies including meta data, semantic markup/structured data, redirects, and other on-page SEO best practices;
- Leverage your analytical skills to uncover actionable insights for growing monthly traffic;
- Manage and nurture client relationships via phone, email, and in-person;
- Conduct, synthesize, and deliver SEO audits for prospective and current clients;
- Regularly Monitor and report on SEO KPI’s such as rankings, traffic, and Google Webmaster Tools reports;
- Develop and implement performance measurement plans;
- Develop and champion strategies to measurably improve monthly rankings, traffic, and conversions;
- Research, recommend, and implement changes to website architecture, content, linking, and other factors to improve organic visibility.
Requirements:
- Highly data-driven, with experience in tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Data Studio, Screaming Frog and STAT;
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint;
- Experience in e-commerce SEO, copywriting, content strategy development or link building;
- HTML, CSS or SQL skills;
- Ideally, you would also have the following;
- Excellent interpersonal skills – a strong communicator with a good ability to explain and deliver SEO insight and recommendations to non-SEO experts;
- Experience executing keyword research, page optimization & site technical audits;
- 3+ years SEO exposure in an in-house role or an agency developing and executing optimization plans;
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints;
- Google Analytics and AdWords certifications preferred;
- Basic knowledge of G Suite, Microsoft Office, and macOS;
- Familiar with the latest SEO trends, best practices, and changes;
- Google My Business optimization and management experience;
- Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition;
- Proven SEO experience managing clients and campaigns.
