Supplier Quality Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Supplier Quality Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Supports validation plans for new and substitute processes/materials/suppliers;
- Plans and maintains an overall audit schedule of the site’s suppliers;
- Evaluates proposed supplier process and product changes;
- Recommends design or test methods for achieving product and process improvement;
- Supports supplier quality rating to a level which allows certification or dock to stock programs to be implemented;
- Participates in the management of product transfer involving suppliers;
- Designs and implements supplier quality assurance methods and metrics;
- Works closely with suppliers globally to execute Value Engineering/Component Engineering opportunities to take cost out of product; and;
- Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvements of divisional supplier management policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes and process controls;
- Exceptional leadership and project management skills required;
- Willing to travel up to 30% of time to supplier partners’ sites across the country;
- Proven ability to deliver results in an unstructured, fast-paced environment;
- 3+ years of supplier quality evaluation experience;
- Basic understanding of food regulations from FDA, USDA and other state and local authorities;
- Experience with GFSI, FDA and USDA audits;
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Minimum 3 years experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, food supply chain, or related field;
- Must be able to travel internationally 30%
- Experience working across multiple production facilities strongly preferred;
- Previous experience with due diligence initiatives;
- Previous experience with Manufacturing Medical Devices;
- Proven leadership experience;
- Previous experience with Capital Equipment and Systems.
