System Engineer Journeyman Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a System Engineer Journeyman to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Daily duties include journeyman level system engineering duties in support of the IBD systems;
- Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design;
- Participates in the development of test strategies;
- Reports directly to Program Systems Engineer Lead and interfaces with prime contract personnel;
- Solves engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.
Requirements:
- Active Secret Security Clearance required;
- PowerShell scripting;
- Demonstrated education and experience in systems engineering a must;
- This is a Journeyman level position with commensurate experience required;
- 5% travel to CONUS locations, possible OCONUS travel required;
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another Engineering/Technical discipline required;
- 7 years of experience, 5 years within DoD required;
- Storage – NetApp, SAN, NAS;
- Lift/move 30 lbs. of computing equipment;
- Networing-basic routing and switching;
- Additional duties as assigned;
- Virtualization- VMware VSphere, VCenter, virtual networks (distributed switches), configuring and deploying virtual machines;
- Active Secret security clearance required, TS preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline required.
