Our company is looking for a UX Writer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand user needs, business goals, and experience flow for each project;
  • Take initiative in generating ideas and suggestions for content strategy, design solutions and other aspects of the user experience;
  • Stay current on the latest trends in content strategy, usability, and search optimization;
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML and web content management systems;
  • Maintain an inventory of all error messaging and create a cohesive strategy for new user and system error messages;
  • Ensure consistency with existing brand standards, templates, and style guides;
  • Use analytics and reporting to evaluate performance of experiences and provide recommendations on low/no value work;
  • Strong copyediting and proofing skills, and attention to detail in both copy decks and final designs;
  • Adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Ability to assess web analytics or user testing results and provide actionable improvements to the user experience;
  • Understand and implement best practices for creating accessible content for customers using assistive technologies;
  • Solid understanding of best web writing practices.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of ux product writing experience (UI, notifications, errors, tooltips, etc);
  • A skill for translating complex technical talk, business jargon into every day, conversational language;
  • A customer centric mindset that thinks about the end-to-end experience and opportunities;
  • A passion for punctuation, experience following writing styles guides;
  • 2+ e-commerce writing experience strongly preferred;
  • Solid grasp of current web/mobile technologies as well as related business issues;
  • Experience working in an agile iterative environment;
  • Strong portfolio of content work;
  • Experience creating content for digital products, especially highly functional experiences;
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for user research and how to extract data-driven insights;
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills;
  • Deep understanding of best practices for in-app content across platforms and experience developing and implementing content standards;
  • An appreciation for the relationship between text and visual elements;
  • Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for consistency;
  • 2+ years working with content management tools, page publishing tools and/or other web tools.
