Our company is looking for a Building Inspector to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Projects with overall project administration, as instructed;
- Review and recommend contractor pay estimates, as directed;
- Communicate effectively with owner, construction manager and designers;
- Verify that contractor has acquired the required building permits, and that they are in compliance with the local, or state inspection requirements;
- Perform daily inspection and prepare written reports;
- Monitor Buy America requirements, through review and verification of material and equipment documentation;
- Assist with payroll reviews for conformance with the Davis Bacon Act;
- Coordinate and monitor materials sampling and testing;
- Identify potential change orders and assist the Director of Projects in mitigating potential impact.
Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Hands-on experience with MS Suite software;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Familiarity with Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code, or similar;
- Minimum of 7 years of experience, with 5 years vertical building construction experience, including quality assurance, quality control or inspections.
