Our company is looking for a Building Inspector to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Projects with overall project administration, as instructed;
  • Review and recommend contractor pay estimates, as directed;
  • Communicate effectively with owner, construction manager and designers;
  • Verify that contractor has acquired the required building permits, and that they are in compliance with the local, or state inspection requirements;
  • Perform daily inspection and prepare written reports;
  • Monitor Buy America requirements, through review and verification of material and equipment documentation;
  • Assist with payroll reviews for conformance with the Davis Bacon Act;
  • Coordinate and monitor materials sampling and testing;
  • Identify potential change orders and assist the Director of Projects in mitigating potential impact.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Hands-on experience with MS Suite software;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code, or similar;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience, with 5 years vertical building construction experience, including quality assurance, quality control or inspections.
