Carpenter Helper Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Carpenter Helper to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Holding plumb bobs, sighting rods, or other equipment to aid in establishing reference points and lines;
- Erecting scaffolding, ladders for assembling structures above ground levels;
- Positioning and holding timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting;
- Set hollow metal doors and frames;
- Place and set slabs and sidewalks;
- Cover services with plastic material to protect them;
- Frame wood;
- Build scaffolding, shoring, and braces;
- Cut timber and lumber to specified dimensions;
- Establish reference points and lines;
- Assist with slabs and elevated structures;
- Spread adhesives on flooring to prep for tile;
- Install trim and cabinets;
- Loading and delivering materials;
- Clean and prepare job sites.
Requirements:
- High standard of integrity and professionalism;
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation;
- Eagerness and willingness to learn;
- Drug free at all times;
- Drug free Job Sites;
- ability to safely maneuver and manipulate building materials;
- must posses basic carpenters hand tools and belt;
- ability to accurately measure and cut materials such as wood, metal, osb, and drywall;
- ability to safely and effectively use a wide variety of hand and power tools;
- unfailing punctuality and attendance a must;
- Drug free work sites;
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified Journeyman Carpenter.
