Drywall Finisher Job Description

The Drywall Finisher requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Plans, installs, and repairs drywalls to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts, and movable partitions in residential and commercial areas. Being a Drywall Finisher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. In addition, Drywall Finisher relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.

Our company is looking for a Drywall Finisher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Studying specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required;
  • Inspecting ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures;
  • Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws;
  • Removing damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools;
  • Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment;
  • Erecting scaffolding, ladders for assembling structures above ground levels;
  • Assembling and fastening materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue;
  • Cut drywall to the right dimensions;
  • Tape and finish drywall;
  • Fluent using stilts and drywall hand tools;
  • Mixing appropriate mud and textures;
  • Applying appropriate mud;
  • Edging and jointing drywall;
  • Power and Hand finish drywall.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with equipment such as: boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts;
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation;
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism;
  • Drug free at all times;
  • 4 years of experience in commercial carpentry;
  • 4+ years of experience;
  • 5 years of experience in Drywall Finishing;
  • Valid driver’s license and your own vehicle;
  • Drug free;
  • Authorized to work in the US with 2 forms of ID;
  • Clean Background (NO FELONIES);
  • Must have PPE and be able to supply your own tools.
