The Electrician Journeyman ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Being an Electrician Journeyman has at least two years of journeyman level electrical experience. Uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. In addition, Electrician Journeyman typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Typically requires an Electrician’s license from the state. Being an Electrician Journeyman has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Working as an Electrician Journeyman typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associates degree, or additional training or certification.

Our company is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations;
  • Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps;

  • Provide estimates for cost and timeline prior to beginning work;
  • Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems poles lights and industrial/ commercial properties;
  • Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in residential homes, on roadside poles and in commercial properties;
  • Assisting with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuit;
  • Perform other related or similar duties as required;
  • Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems;
  • Needs to be able to follow safety rules;
  • May drive company vehicles and operate grounds keeping equipment as required;
  • Should be able to work in various weather conditions;
  • Perform installation, connection, adjustment and calibration of electrical gauges and recording instruments;
  • Performs other duties as needed;
  • Ensure systems meet company standards and are installed per all electrical and local building codes.

Requirements:

  • OSHA a plus or will be provided;
  • Must have either an Electrical Journeyman’s card OR 4 years of electrical work experience with passing score on qualifying exam;
  • At least 2 years commercial or industrial experience;
  • MUST have a current/VALID Texas state drivers license (not expired, not suspended, out of state, etc);
  • Must be able to pass a drug test;
  • MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hour work week;
  • Must be willing to obtain a State of Wisconsin Electricians License;
  • Must have minimum tools;
  • 3 years of commercial experience;
  • Perform other related or similar duties as required;
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety;
  • Must pass background check;
  • Must have an active drivers license;
  • All candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug screen;
  • Must have reliable transportation.
